Ah, another chocolate and gelato shop! Heaven. Since 2004, Swiss-trained chocolatier Michael Canady has been treating the South Loop to his wonderful confections. The compact shop offers a full range of chocolate, cafe-style coffee drinks and a rotating selection of home-made gelati. Along with traditional flavors like lemon, vanilla and chocolate, Canady boasts more exotic blends like tiramisu, blueberry and ginger. For extra indulgence you can get cannoli shells filled with gelato, too. The delicious chocolates and truffles are hand-crafted and sometimes painted with elaborate deigns or formed in unique shapes like coffee cups. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and it is a perfect respite after museums (or formerly a show at HotHouse, RIP).
